Getting you into the perfect boat is our passion.

There’s a right boat for everyone. We’ve learned it firsthand having grown up on the water, and we’re honored to share our expertise so you can make an investment that rewards you for as long as you own your yacht.

Wright Yachts believes integrity and service are a big part of this life-changing experience. And whether you’re looking for pleasure sailing or performance-oriented speed, sailing alone or sharing the experience with loved ones, our selection of yachts—from catamarans and monohulls to trimarans—are built to ensure your adventures are safe and memorable.

Robert Wright

Owner

Rob’s passion for boating began at age six, when his father let him take the helm of an O’Day 23. More recently, Rob has sailed Alaska to Southern California, the Virgin Islands, Sardinia, Norway, and most of the Gulf and Mid Atlantic coasts.

Prior to starting Wright Yachts, Rob spent more than two decades in marketing, collaborating with noteworthy clients, including Alaska Airlines and Ritz-Carlton Hotels.

When not working, Rob enjoys sailing, skiing and hiking with his wife Amelia, son Zac and their Rottweiler, “Peaches”.

Scott Wallingford

Scott Wallingford

Service Manager

Scott started hoisting sails at seven years of age when his dad took him for a trip off the coast of California on a McGregor 26. Scott’s obsession with boating led him to a career in boatyards and mechanics in 2008. He’s since competed in international boating races including the Race to Alaska (where he placed 4th overall) and the Phuket’s King’s Cup in Thailand (where Scott placed 1st in the cruising multihull division).

Scott loves scouring far and wide for great sailboats. And it will come as no surprise that when he’s not helping Wright Yacht customers discover the best boat for their needs, he enjoys sailing with his son, Brad.

Tyler Ling

Expert Mechanic

Tyler discovered sailing after leaving college in search of excitement. His love of the sea developed through work on a variety of schooners, tall ships, wooden boats, fishing vessels, monohulls, and catamarans. Tyler is a skilled woodworker and expert of exterior maintenance, rigging, and sail repair.

Tyler has traveled the world on the water and built a career around it. Some of his favorite trips include sailing the Caribbean, the tropics, and anywhere he doesn’t have cell service.

JAMES RONAN

Canadian Representative

James has sailed everything from monohulls to trimarans for more than 45 years. It’s a journey that’s taken him along both coasts of the U.S. as well as to Cuba, Hawaii, Mexico, and the Philippines. His favorite sailing experience is the Newport-Ensenada offshore race—which he competed in for five years. These days you can find James sailing throughout the Gulf Islands in Canada and the San Juan Islands in the U.S.

James is a retired medical officer for the U.S. military, a retired pediatric nurse practitioner, and a retired university professor. He resides in British Columbia, Canada, and enjoys time on his Corsair Pulse 600.

We had a fantastic experience with Rob and Scott! They are true professionals and went above and beyond to meet our very narrow timeframe for haul out, inspection, test drive and launch all within four days!
