The NEEL 47 is a true blue water performer. Winning the 2019 ARC+ proves that you don’t have to sacrifice comfort for a fast boat. All lines lead to the helm station and the powered winches makes raising the main and sail adjustments all to easy. A powered block controls the topping lift which also allows for the dinghy to be lifted onto its cradle. This enables the Neel 47 to be easily single handed, quite the accomplishment for a 47′ trimaran.
The helm is light to the touch and the feel of the boat under sail is more similar to a monohull, as the amas allow the Neel to comfortably heel by a few degrees. The Neel 47 easily tacks through the wind and makes the most out of a broad reach. Maneuvering a Neel Trimaran in an anchorage is also exceedingly easy with the use of the bow thruster.
Making excellent use of its three hulls, both outside amas have a separate outside entrance leading into a wet head, allowing the crew to strip off their foul weather gear or swimsuits without tracking water into their double berth.
Ample storage can be found in hanging lockers, as well as under the berth. Not to mention the large storage compartments accessed through deck side hatches to each ama’s aft. Optional cabins can be equipped forward of the berths and accessible through a hatch on deck. They can also be left empty for sail storage or something more custom can be designed.
This joins the cockpit with the saloon and creates a wonderful open living concept. The saloon sports a large dining table, wraparound settee, with an optional TV mounted on the adjacent wall. Through a sliding door is the large owner’s berth, sporting large wrap around windows allowing you to take full advantage of the views.
The center hull offers unparalleled space for access to the ship systems, along with ample storage of additional equipment. Access is through a single large hatch in the saloon. Once opened, you’ll be amazed by the massive bay, spanning the width of the main hull. Here, all plumbing, Mastervolt systems, fuel and water tanks, battery banks, watermaker, generator, and everything else you could desire resides in a single, protected, large organized space, away from the living areas.
